Jean George passed away peacefully in her sleep at Alaska Native Medical Center while recovering from an accident at home.

Jean was born in Copper Center, Alaska, on Sept. 28, 1932, to Tenas Jack and Anna Nicholia. Jean had a brother, Floyd; sister, Anna; and uncles, Hans John and Gus Nicholia.

Jean had a successful life and career as a dietitian. For over 24 years she worked at ANMC.

Jean's hobbies were playing bingo with her family and many friends who she cherished.

Jean lived to be 89, and is survived by her son, Leslie George; daughter, Gail Savage; granddaughters, Adrienne George, Melina Twichell, Leanna Savage, Michelle Rickteroff and Cherilyn Savage; and grandsons, Edward Savage, Steve George, Steward George, Brian George and Leonard Savage.

Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Nicholas George; daughters, Norma Rickteroff and Aureliea Harris; sons, Gary George, Marlon George and Kevin George.

The service will be held at 12 p.m., on Friday, Jan. 21, 2022, at Legacy Funeral Home, 1707 South Bragaw Street in Anchorage, Alaska.
