Moveta Kae Posma (Moes), age 79, formerly of Holland, Mich., passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2021, surrounded by her family in Anchorage, Alaska.

Moveta was born on Dec. 23, 1941, in Lake Odessa, Mich., to John and Myrna Moes. After receiving her associates degree in accounting from Davenport College in Grand Rapids, Mich., she married Robert Dale Posma of Zeeland, Mich. They lived for several years in Haslett, Mich., before moving to Anchorage, Alaska, in 1973 with their two children. After running a successful small business in Anchorage together, they returned to Holland in 1982. In 2018, Moveta returned to Anchorage to be near family.

She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; and granddaughter, Adeline Rose Posma. She is survived by her son, Robert Jr. and wife, Amy; daughter Jennifer Wagner and husband, Mark; two grandsons, Andrew (Sarah) and Allen (Christina) Posma; three granddaughters, Abby (Christian) Morris and Paige and Olivia Wagner; stepgranddaughter, Emily (Bryce) Mahn; brother, James Soper; sister-in-law, Judy Messany, and extended family in Michigan.

Moveta enjoyed antiquing, travel, sports cars and gardening. Always stylishly dressed, she enjoyed the pageantry of the theater and opera in Grand Rapids and Saugatuck, Mich., and Anchorage. Best of all, she loved talking to people. Named for a Spanish movie star, Moveta loved her name and the conversations it sparked. She enjoyed volunteering at the Holland Hospital gift shop and other charitable organizations.
