Barbara J. Boone, 75, of Geneseo, Ill., formerly of Alaska, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2021, at her home. Cremation rites have been accorded and services will be held at a later date in Alaska. Vandemore Funeral Homes & Crematory – Geneseo Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements. Barbara was born on Oct. 29, 1945, the daughter of Clayton and Mary (Dorland) Williams, in Wahoo, Neb. She graduated from Geneseo High School, class of 1963. She attended Kennedy College in Nebraska. On April 12, 1973, she married Jack Boone. They later divorced on Dec. 15, 1989. She was employed as a social worker for the United States Government. She was a member of the Muldoon Assembly of God, located in Alaska. She attended BSF bible study fellowship in both Alaska and Illinois. She enjoyed quilting retreats and outings, gardening, cooking and her two dogs, Bella and Nugget. She especially loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Jennifer (Kristian) Dempsey of Geneseo, and Jacquie Boone of Anchorage, Alaska; grandchildren, Megan Matheson, Mary Matheson, Melanie Matheson, Shelby Filley and Hayden Boone; and great-grandchildren, Liam Doxsee, Harper Reese, Gracelyn Reese, Samuel Reese, Dustin McElroy and Hailey McElroy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clayton and Mary; ex-husband, Jack; and brother, Larry Williams.
