Judith "Judy" Ann McSharry

Our beloved Judith "Judy" Ann McSharry passed away peacefully on Aug. 20, 2021, in Wasilla, Alaska, at the age of 81. She was born to Chester and Mamie Bransdor on Oct. 18, 1939, in Chicago, Ill. She had three children with her first husband with whom she came to Alaska with in 1962. After that marriage ended, she met the love of her life Jim, and they were married in 1968. They had three children together. Being a mother and a grandmother were her greatest joys in life. She was very active in her children's schools and sports, volunteering to be a room mom and hockey mom at various times. Many hours were spent at the hockey rinks in the winter and baseball fields in the summer. Once all her children were in school, she began working at the Municipality of Anchorage. She worked several jobs in the Finance Department and eventually retired in 2001 as the Property Tax Supervisor. During her retirement she enjoyed puzzles, watching hockey, shopping on Amazon and spending time with her kids and grandkids who affectionately called her "Mima." She especially loved her time spent volunteering with Hospice of Anchorage. She was a kind soul who put everyone's needs in front of her own.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father; husband, Jim McSharry; daughter, Yvonne Watterson; grandsons, Ben and Billy Watterson; and sister, Darlene Reed.

She is survived by her five children, Debbie Theis (Todd), Mike Peterson (Sylvia), Jim McSharry (Robin), Jennifer McSharry and Steve McSharry (Kori Clayton); 16 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; brothers, Dave Bransdor and Dan McCarthy (Aleta); as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at a future date.
