Linda Lorraine Holler

Dec 15, 1948 -

Aug 17, 2021

Linda Lorraine Holler passed away on Aug. 17, 2021, but not before leaving her mark on this world. She was born in Watford City, N.D., on Dec. 15, 1948, to Lyle and Verna Norby. After graduating from Watford City High School in 1967, she married Conrad Holler, a farm boy whom she said could fix anything and the one who'd become the love of her life. In 1974, they moved from Roosevelt City, Utah to Alaska with three young children in tow – Jeff, Doug and Joan (Miller). She worked endlessly to found beautiful memories for her young family. She was an amazing cook, busy hockey mom, faithful member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and an avid reader. During these years, she worked periodically as a bookkeeper for doctors Koivenun and Siry.

In 1989, she graduated from the University of Alaska Anchorage with a bachelor's degree in education. Becoming a teacher satisfied a passion she'd long had before "three babies and that great job at the bank" had come along. She taught government and history for 25 years at Wasilla High School before retiring in 2016. After that, her five grandsons, Garrison, Logan, Roman, Brody and Mason, would keep "Grandma Gumball" on the move and hard at it in the kitchen.

Work hard. Be kind. Was what she asked of herself and others. She is survived by her husband; siblings, James Norby, Barbara Frye, Arnold Swenson, Scott Swenson; three children; daughter-in-law, Misty Holler; son-in-law, Doug Miller; brother and sister-in-law, Leo and Jane Holler; five grandsons; nieces; and nephews.

A service will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Thursday, Sept. 2, 2021, at 3 p.m. Reception to be held immediately following at the VFW, 301 East Lake View Avenue in Wasilla, Alaska.
