Joshua Luke Zankie

Joshua Luke Zankie was born on April 10, 1976, in Anchorage, Alaska, and died unexpectedly on March 9, 2021, in Portland, Ore., due to cardiac dysrhythmia. Luke was a graduate of Grace Christian School, and attended Prairie Bible College in Three Hills, Alberta, Canada. During several years outside of Alaska, he was employed as a family teacher at St. Joseph's Children's Home in Torrington, Wyo.

Luke is survived by his mother Rebecca, Ing Cothren; stepfather, Ron Cothren; fiancee, Christina Golden-Weideman; sisters, Petra Clinton, Teal Zankie, Teri Cothren and Sara Cothren; aunts, Mary Ing Kay and Martha Ing Scallorn; uncles, David Ing and Daniel Ing; cousins, Jesse Ing, Heather Kaas, Andrea Chartier, Jason Kay, Amber Ochoa, Jeremy Kay, Loreal Brooks, Jennifer Farnum, Emily Hall, Sarah Clinton, Thane Zickefoose and Tatum Zickefoose; and lifelong best friends, Matt and Jen Koenig.

Luke is predeceased by his father, Peter B. Zankie; paternal grandparents, Pete and Flora Zankie; maternal grandparents, Frank and Mary Nell Ing; and beloved cousin, Sarah Ing.

At a later time, Luke's ashes will be scattered on the Kenai River, where he spent many happy childhood days fishing.
