Walter Charles "Chuck" Jerde

Chuck Was born in Anchorage, Alaska, to Walter and Dorothy Jerde. Dorothy died while giving birth to Chuck. Soon after, his dad married Bernice with a baby daughter, Judy the same age. They gave him three siblings: Starr, James and Jonathan.
Chuck was raised in Anchorage and graduated from East Anchorage High School in 1968. He joined the U.S. Navy and he was stationed in San Diego, Calif., as a helicopter hydraulic mechanic. There he married Juanita and had a son, Charlie. After a divorce he returned to Alaska. Chuck and had a 40-year career as a truck driver starting with Anchorage Refuse driving a garbage truck, then Spenard Builders Supply driving a tractor trailer, ending in the North Slope mostly driving a pump truck. He married Shari in 1982, and they were blessed with two children. After an amicable divorce, Chuck became an ex-pat and lived a beautiful life in the Philippines with his fiancee Josephine. This is where he passed on to be with the Lord. We know for certain he passed holding his favorite scripture in his heart. "But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint." Isaiah 40:31
Chuck is survived by his daughter, Shana; and sons, Charlie and Micah; sisters, Elmira (Rick) Mossman, Judy Hartley, Starr (Brad) Mellen; brothers, John (Lolita) Jerde, James Jerde, Jonathan (Carletta) Jerde; uncle, Duke in Ohio; Phil, his best friend of 50 years; eight grandchildren; fiancee, Josephine; and her daughter, Angela of Davao City, Philippines. Chuck is loved and will be missed by family and friends.
