Rachael Shaw-Rosenbaum

Rachael Shaw-Rosenbaum passed away on March 21, 2021, while away at college at Yale in New Haven, Conn.

Rachael was born in Anchorage, Alaska, on Aug. 9, 2002. Actively involved in several community and school-related activities, Rachael had recently graduated from West Anchorage High School, where she excelled drama, debate and forensics, and orchestra. Rachael also served as the principal violist in the Alaska Youth Orchestra and sat on their performing board of directors for two years. Passionate about justice, Rachael had over 300 service hours with Anchorage Youth Court, including five years on the Board of Directors. Some of her favorite experiences occurred during summers at Sitka Fine Arts Camp.

Rachael is survived by her mother, Pamela Shaw; aunt, Beverly Harper (Lawrence); aunt, Shelly Shaw; grandmother, Betty Shaw; cousins, Robert Pickford III (Thanh), Shana Pickford (Justin), Kristopher Pickford (Sara), Lydia Randall and Heather Basalyga (Eric); second cousins, Aiden, Elijah, Isaac, Tristan, Karigan, Austin, Ariel, Zaccheaus, Ezra and Landen; and beloved dog, Teddy.

A celebration of life ceremony will be held on Wednesday, July 21, 2021, at Kincaid Chalet from 6 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
