George Henry Cline

Jan 14, 1942 -

Dec 6, 2020

George Henry Cline of Anchorage, Alaska, passed away peacefully at home on Dec. 6, 2020. He was born in Motley, Minn., in 1942, and moved to Alaska with his family in 1948, where Alaska became his lifelong home.

George grew up in Mountain View and attended Anchorage High School. His profession in construction and oilfield support services allowed him to work all over remote sites of Alaska, where he became a well-known and respected businessman. In 1991, George received a patent for Incineration of Drilling Muds and owned/operated Soil Processing Inc. until his passing.

George would tell you he lived life to the fullest. He had many adventures - drag racing in Palmer in the 60s, fishing in Kona and digging for gold in Mexico. In 2011, George was a grateful recipient of a heart transplant from UW Medical Center in Seattle, which allowed him to continue his adventurous life. He loved Alaska, NHRA, feeding birds, cooking and being an adored "Papa" to his eight grandchildren.

George is survived by his wife of 38 years, Jennie Sharpe; and children, Samantha Hagel (Bob), Stephani Green (Tim), Christina Cline and Amy Cline. He leaves grandchildren, Jordan, Isabell, Adeline and Benjamin of Minnesota; Kendra, Noah and Lily of Texas; and Ella of Washington. He was a brother to Clarence Cline and Margaret Lucas (Don) of Oregon. His parents, Clarence and Mable Cline; and grandchild, Christian Hagel, predeceased him.

A Celebration of Life will be held on July 10, 2021, at 11 a.m., at Viking Hall, 8141 Briarwood in Anchorage. All are welcome. In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested memorial contributions to: UW Medicine https://www.acceleratemed.org/give/.
