Longtime Anchorage, Alaska, resident Anna E. Santistevan, age 70, passed away at home on June 1, 2021. She was born on Jan. 12, 1951, in Trinidad, Colo. The spouse of a veteran, her residency in Alaska began in 1973. She was a retired court clerk for the State of Alaska.

A hard-working mother, wife and grandmother, family meant everything to her. She was always willing to help anyone. She was also a fabulous cook, who loved to dance, host parties, quilt and garden - especially loved her peonies. She was an animal lover, and really loved a fabulous lemon drop martini! She was also tough as nails, outlasting anything the doctors or nurses expected.

Anna is survived by her beloved children, Nicole, Eddy and Kevin Santistevan, all of Anchorage; grandchildren, Marco, Mario and Mia Mendez of Anchorage; daughter-in-law, Senai Roby-Mendez of Anchorage; and great-grandson, Mylo "Pinon" Mendez also of Anchorage.
