Duane Kauke

Duane died on April 12, 2021, after a short illness. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Denise; his three children, Jason, Jesse and Jeena; grandson, Max; his brother, Bob (Joyce) Kauke; and sisters, Susan and Renee.

Duane was born in Junction City, Kan., and moved to Alaska in 1974. He worked as a locomotive engineer for the Alaska Railroad for 37 years, until retirement in 2011. Duane loved Alaska outdoor life, including fishing, hunting, camping and rafting the Kenai River. He enjoyed hang gliding, flying model planes, gardening and vacations in Maui, Hawaii, with his family.

Friends and family are invited to a Celebration of Duane's Life on June 27, 2021, at Arctic Road Runner Creekside, 5300 Old Seward Highway in Anchorage, Alaska, at 3 p.m.
