Apr 16, 2021

Lifelong Alaska resident Tammy R. Thoms-Sohocki, 60, passed away with her loved ones by her side after a long battle with lung disease on April 16, 2021, at her youngest daughters residence in Palmer, Alaska.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date and per her wishes her ashes will be scattered in Hawaii, and with her mom and dad in the Anchor River near the old homestead in Anchor Point, Alaska.

Tammy was born on Jan. 18, 1961, in Milwaukee, Wis., to Terry and Elaine Thoms. The Thoms Family relocated to Homer in 1970. Tammy spent most of her young life in Homer, Anchor Point and Kasilof, Alaska, before moving to Anchorage. Throughout her life she has also lived in Texas, Hawaii, Juneau and Florida, before returning back to Alaska to spend more time with her kids and grandkids. She was married to our dad Robert Miller 1974-1994.

Tammy had a love for drinking coffee in the sun, gardening, building fish ponds with her mom and dad, league bowling, riding on the back of a Harley and participating in fundraiser runs with all her biker friends, volunteering in the community, taking silly pictures with her grandkids, any thing having to do with the United States Navy and spending as much time with her children and grandchildren, as she was very proud of all of them.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Elaine Thoms; and survived by her three children, Jessica Miller, Thomas Miller (Renee Lampley) and Tiffany Dodd (David Dodd); nine grandchildren, Alexus and Vincent Miller, Kapree Pilcher, Ashley Lampley, Victoria and Chase Miller, Tristania,Tristan and Tyrson Dodd; two great-grandchildren, Alice and Kairi; brothers, Todd, Tabb, Trace, Tate and Tiger Thoms; sister, Terre DeVaney and brother-in-law Lance DeVaney; sisters-in-law, Wanda, JQ, Jennifer and Alicia; father, Terry Thoms; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Tammy will be missed by all who knew her.
