Steele Lane Rice

Apr 19, 2021
It is with tremendous sadness and heartache that we announce the passing of Steele Lane Rice, who died on April 19, 2021, in Fairbanks, Alaska. Parents Jeff Rice and Lynette Hulke welcomed Steele into this world on Aug. 21, 1993, in Wasilla, Alaska. Steele was the eldest of four and a brother to many.
Outwardly, Steele had it all: humor, height, handsomeness, rap talent, fantastic wit, infectious smile, mechanical talents and a mullet that left others jealous. Inwardly, he was sensitive, caring, loving and giving and with his own struggles that he hid well from his family, friends and "wolfepack."
Steele was well-loved by so many and has left an impact on his surviving family: father, Jeff Rice; mother, Lynette (Hulke) Krueger; stepfather, Ray Krueger; grandmothers, Teresa Siry and Faye Hulke; grandfather, Lane Rice; sister, Kristina (Rice) Parlier (Dustin Parlier) and niece, Abigail Parlier; and brothers, Stone and Sayer Krueger. He leaves behind aunts, uncles, a plethora of cousins and a multitude of friends. Steele's legacy lives on in his only child, Jayce David Rice and Jayce's mother, Reace Morrison. The list of family and friends whose lives Steele touched is as high as the mountain ranges and as deep as the Alaska waters that Steele ventured on. His memory will continue to live on in his family and beloved son, Jayce David Rice, who brought so much joy to Steele.
Steele was preceded in death by his grandfather, Floyd "Butch" Hulke.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggestions memorial donations be made in the name of Jayce David Rice.
A celebration of life will occur on Saturday, May 8, 2021, at the VFW in Wasilla, at 4 p.m., and Steele's final resting place will be shared at a later date by his family and loved ones.
