Neil Scott Wagner, 68, of Chugiak, Alaska, died on April 13, 2021. He was born in Charleroi, Pa., on Jan. 15, 1953, the son of Ralph and Dorothy Wagner.
After graduating from South Park High School in Pennsylvania, he attended the Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Thereafter, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served honorably at Randolph Air Force Base, Texas, and Elmendorf Air Force Base, Alaska. He remained in Alaska, where he worked for the U.S. Postal Service. In later years, his love of cars and driving led him to work as a taxi driver, limousine chauffeur and driver for the MASCOT van.
He raised his two sons, Eric and Nathan, in Eagle River, Alaska, and enjoyed playing an active role in helping to raise his beloved granddaughter, Alexis.
Neil is survived by his mother, Dorothy Wagner; sons, Eric Penetac and Nathan Wagner; granddaughter, Alexis Penetac; sister, Eileen Schuster and husband Bob; sister, Janet Boshears and husband Roger; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his father, the Reverend Ralph F. Wagner; brother, Philip Wagner; and his companion, Bernadette Penetac.
A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m., on May 8, 2021, in the Witzleben Chapel of the Legacy Funeral Home, 1707 Bragaw Street in Anchorage, Alaska. Father Jim Brisson will officiate.
