Harold Winston "Hal" Grindle

Hal passed away peacefully on Dec. 21, 2020, at the age of 98, in Wasilla, Alaska, at his home on Memory Lake.
Hal grew up in Eldorado, Wichita and Augusta, Kan., and graduated from high school in Harper.
Shortly after high school he joined the Navy and while stationed in Lawrence, Kan., he met his future wife, Ellen Marie (Elmer). They were married in 1944. He later graduated from Kansas University with a degree in architectural engineering. They moved to Juneau, Alaska, when he got a job with the Federal Housing Administration and by 1955 had moved to Anchorage. In 1958, he started a general contracting business which he continued for about 40 years.
He adored his family and friends and was devoted to God and his church.
Hal is survived by his son, Mark Grindle (Lee); daughter, Pam Kroon (Loren); grandsons, Troy Grindle (Audrey), Keplan Kroon (Rachel), Teagen Kroon and Tillerman Kroon (Becca); great-grandchildren, Parker, Noah, Savannah and Hendrix; and sister, Darlene Dobbs. He was preceded in death by his beloved Elmer.
A memorial service will be held on May 2, 2021, at 4 p.m., at Wasilla Bible Church.
