Lonnie Dean Wick was born on Sept. 21, 1953, in Grand Junction, Colo, to Melvin and Eveline Wick. He grew up in Anchorage, Alaska, and graduated from East High School in 1972. After earning his college degree from the University of Idaho in May 1978, he began his career as an architect, which lasted 43 years.
Lonnie was raised in a Christian home and an early childhood made a profession of faith in the death, burial and resurrection of our Savior Jesus Christ. The first verse of Scripture he learned as a child was "nor is there a salvation any other for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved." (Acts 4:12) He loved studying, memorizing and teaching the Bible. He was a gifted artist, woodworker and sportsman. He loved working in the flower garden.
Lonnie was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Barbara; son, Chris and daughter-in-law Ashley; son, Kevin and daughter-in-law Danielle; daughter, Kara and son-in-law Matthew; mother, Eveline; brother, Scott and sister-in-law Marianne; sister-in-law, Laura; brother-in-law, Gary and sister-in-law Debbie; and sister-in-law, Sandy. Lonnie is also survived by nine grandchildren: Tahlia, Mikaela, Karsten, Braden, Brooklyn, Brighton, Haddon, Elsie and Myles. Lonnie is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Melvin Wick; and brother, Stanley Wick.
