Mar 6, 2021

On March 6, 2021, Peter Norwood, beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, veteran and friend, went home to be with the Lord, at the age of 58, following complications from a stroke.

Born on September 19, in Bucks County, Pa., to Ellis and Betty Norwood, Peter proudly served his country as an Aviation Ordanceman in the U.S. Navy. After his service, he continued protecting our nation as an employee of the Department of Homeland Security, working at multiple airports for the TSA.

Peter married Karla (Jarman) on September 27, in Lubbock, Texas. Due to his career, they moved many times, but, Anchorage, Alaska, where their son Philip was born and raised, was truly Peter's favorite location of everywhere he called home.

Peter loved being a twin, scuba diving, all thing SYFY and the Seattle Seahawks, but most of all listening to Philip play his trumpet.

Those left behind to cherish his memory include his wife of 35 years, Karla; his son, Philip; his mother; two sisters; five brothers; and numerous nieces and nephews.

His family will receive friends from 5-6 p.m., on Wednesday, March 10, 2021, at Sanders Funeral Home. Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., on Thursday, March 11, 2021, at Sanders Memorial Chapel Lubbock.

In lieu of flowers, the following organizations were special to Peter and will honor his memory: K-9's for Warriors or Patriot Paws, Disabled American Veterans and K-Love Radio.

His cremains will be interred in a National Cemetery at a later date. To view his memorial service and to send online condolences, please visit his tribute page at www.sandersfuneralhome.com.
