Sep 4, 1956 -

Jan 13, 2021

Patricia Ann Nelson-Allen of Anchorage, Alaska, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Jan. 13, 2021.

Trish was born in Caribou, Maine, to Bertel R. and Margaret (Matson) Nelson. She grew up on the farm in New Sweden with her parents, two sisters, brother, relatives and close friends. At times she was tasked with picking potatoes and rocks from the fields, unless she had an opportunity to be in the house with her one love, playing the piano.

Trish attended Caribou High School. There she excelled in varsity sports and band. She was also a member of the New Sweden Baptist Church.

After graduation, Trish pursued her passion for music and attended the University of Southern Maine. There she received her Bachelor of Arts in music performance - piano.

In 1980, Trish followed her brother and sister to Alaska. There she began her career in sales at Alaska Piano and Organ. Later she moved into entrepreneurship and opened and operated Keyboards West.

In 1990, Trish joined with her sister and David Day and opened Pianos Unlimited. They were the exclusive Steinway, Baldwin and Wurlitzer piano dealership.

After many years they sold the business and moved on. Years later, Trish went on to opening and operating two additional music businesses.

Trish volunteered with all of her daughter's school and sports activities. She loved camping and fishing. She had a wonderful personality, a caring and loving soul. She had a soft spot for any person or animal that needed assistance. Trish will be greatly missed by many; until "we meet again," we love you forever.

Trish was preceded in death by her parents, Bertel R. and Margaret Nelson; sister, Mary Lou Nelson; and brother, Charles Nelson.

She is survived by her husband, Jeff; daughter, Hazel Allen; sister, Shirley Nelson (Brian Wakefield); and numerous cousins in Alaska, Maine, and elsewhere.

A celebration of life will be announced for this summer. An additional memorial will be held in New Sweden, Maine, this summer as well.
