Feb 8, 2021
Early Monday morning, Feb. 8, 2021, Connie Marie (Foley) Schroder, loving wife and mother of four, passed away unexpectedly, at the age of 56.
Connie was born in Fort Wainwright, Alaska, to Jack A. and Jackie M. (McCleery) Foley. She lived with her family in Fairbanks, Juneau and Anchorage, Alaska, during her early years. She attended East Anchorage High School and later University of Alaska Anchorage.
As a teenager Connie had a passion for martial arts and competed in karate tournaments in Anchorage and the Lower 48. In her adult years she had a talent for business and saw success working in property management as well as bookkeeping and later ran her own business.
The mother to four boys, Connie deeply loved cooking for her family and is remembered by them as being an exceptional cook. Another way she expressed her love for others was through her generous nature, as she gave freely of her time and resources to those in need, always expecting nothing in return. She showed through her life that happiness is not found in what we own but in what we give and do for others.
With her passing, Connie was joyfully and lovingly greeted in Paradise by her father, Jack, as well as her grandparents and numerous dearly departed family members. She is survived by her husband, Guy Schroder; her sons, Shawn and Ryan Rapp and Connor and Skylar Schroder; her mother, Jackie M. Foley; sisters, Tammie Jenkins and Sharon Foley; and brother, Jack Foley; along with numerous extended family members.
A memorial service for family members was held for Connie on Saturday, Feb. 13, 2021, at the Klatt Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 4 p.m.
