Frances M. "Fran" Kelsch

Frances May "Fran" Kelsch, 92, passed away suddenly on Jan. 16, 2021, after a recent cancer diagnosis.

Fran was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on June 2, 1928, to Jacob and Frances Hauenstein. She graduated high school in 1946, and married her husband John Kelsch on July 25, 1949, at 21 years old. They were happily married for 67 years. They had one daughter, Patricia Kelsch-Rorrison.

After a move across the country from New York, their family settled in Kenai, Alaska, in 1962. Fran worked as a librarian at Kenai Central High School for many years. Fran will be deeply missed by her family, friends and the community who loved her immensely. Those who knew her enjoyed hearing stories about her wonderful and fascinating life.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Frances and Jacob Hauenstein; brother, Jacob; and husband, John Kelsch. Fran is survived by daughter, Patricia Kelsch-Rorrison; grandson, David Rorrison; and granddaughters, Samantha and Barbara Rorrison.
