Longtime Sterling, Alaska, resident Ms. Dixie Lee Hagquist, 67, died on Monday, Feb. 1, 2021, at her home in Sterling with her family by her side.

Services will be held at a later date.

Dixie was born on Feb. 25, 1953, in Vancouver, Wash. She moved to Alaska in 1980, where she has lived in Sterling ever since. She enjoyed camping and fishing.

She was preceded in death her parents, Juanita Hagquist and Claud Harols Dodson.

She is survived by her sister, Trudy (Larry) Walters in Battleground, Wash.; lifelong friends and partner, Erik Bush of Sterling; son, Ron Pauley of Anchorage, Alaska; daughters, Leha (Rick) Cutlip of Princeton, W.Va, Lori Anderson of Kasilof, Alaska, and Lysa (Steven Hamilton) Bush of Kasilof; son, Frank Bush of Beckley, W.Va.; 16 grandchildren; two nephews; one niece; two great-nephews; two great-nieces; and numerous friends who she considered family.
