Kenneth Ray Tonn

Jan 8, 1958 -

Jan 21, 2021

Kenneth Ray Tonn crossed over to join the heavenly orchestra on Jan. 21 2021, in Tempe, Ariz., succumbing to the effects of COVID-19.

Kenn was born on Jan. 8, 1958, in Anchorage, Alaska, to Raymond O. and Mary E. Tonn. He grew up in Anchorage and as soon as he was out of high school began a career in music, the bass guitar being his primary method of artistic expression. He went on to record and play in numerous bands over the next 45 years in Alaska, up and down the west coast and the U.S.

Kenn was at home in front of a crowd, be it 10 people or 10,000. He knew who he was and lived an authentic life pursuing his passion to the end.

Left behind to cherish his memory are son, Dustin with wife Sara, grandson Ezekiel and granddaughter Abigail; son, Zachariah with wife LaDocia and granddaughter Thia; sister and brother-in-law, Christi and Mark Norquist; dearest friends, Andre and Deb Pontbriand, Curt and Sharon Nelson and Eric Traub; and a multitude of musical family and friends.

Memorial services are currently pending due to the ongoing pandemic.
