Lifelong Alaska resident Shannon Rae Gilligan, 47, died on Aug. 8, 2020, at Alaska Regional Hospital in Anchorage, Alaska.

Shannon was born on Sept. 18, 1972, in Anchorage.

She attended East High School and Anchorage Community College.

She resided in the Anchorage and Big Lake area her entire life.

She worked in the food and beverage industry most of her life.

Her family and friends wrote that she was a caring and generous woman. She had a love of nature and photography, and enjoyed many outdoor treks in the area. She loved her position at the Eagle River Elks Club and the many patrons she met there.

She is survived by her two sons and daughter, Justin of Eagle River, Alaska, Brandon of Chicago, Ill., and Brogan of Champaign, Ill.; sisters, Sara's family John, Madeline, Ava, and stepsister, Emily and stepbrother, Jonathan and family Trinity, Jaxon, Jacob and Jayce; parents, Michael T. Turner of Eagle River, and Sheila R. Turner of Anchorage. She leaves behind her uncle, Greg Reeves; and cousins, Hope, Rocky and Ronette.
