Cornelius "C.J." Jacob McBride, 42, suddenly passed away at Alaska Regional Hospital due to cardiac arrest on Nov. 6, 2020. C.J. was born in Anchorage, Alaska, on Jan. 26, 1978, to Donna and Mac McBride.

CJ was known for his infectious personality, welcoming smile and unlimited generosity. He was a loving and doting father, brother, son and friend who welcomed anyone he met with open arms.

As a youth CJ was energetic, active and athletic. He was the kid that excelled at any activity he attempted. He played basketball, football, ran track and wrestled throughout his youth. As an adult, he found joy in a multitude of hobbies and passions that he shared with his family. He would spend his summers camping, fishing and boating on the Kenai Peninsula. Many summer and winter nights in the Mat-Su Valley riding snowmachines and four-wheelers. One of his great joys was his pristinely restored yellow Monte Carlo that many of us can close our eyes and see him driving to this day.

CJ is survived by his fiancee, Niki Detablan; children, Cornelius (Caddy) McBride, Lauraya Sauafea, Keshawn McBride, Tyrell McBride, Jaiden Boyd and Nakeyda McBride; mother, Donna McBride; and siblings, Dametra McBride and Sharita Napper.

CJ will be missed by many, and the family has been appreciative of the prayers and support provided by those who knew him. There will be a viewing on Sunday, Nov. 15, 2020, at Evergreen Memorial Chapel 737 E Street, Anchorage, AK 99501. A Celebration Of Life will be held at a time when gatherings are more appropriate.
