Our dear son, brother and friend Canyon Joseph Spurlock, 37, passed away on Oct. 25, 2020 in Anchorage, Alaska. Canyon was born in Anchorage on Oct. 17, 1983 at a home birth, taking the world by storm right from the start. He attended Bayshore Elementary, Mears Jr High and Dimond High School.

Whether you knew him as Canyon, Can Can, Bonky, #1 Son, C-Spur, Nitro Red or Wanyon.... you'd know that he had a heart of gold and loved dearly all who were in his circle. Canyon will be missed by so many, friends and family alike. He was a unique soul that could bring laughter and light to any room. No matter what the day brought forth Canyon's zest for life was always present. Canyon had a deep love and passion for anything outdoors, especially hockey and snowboarding. Most importantly he found great joy in making people laugh with all his various fun and goofy antics. Canyon's contagious sense of humor and ability to bring smiles and laughter everywhere he went will be forever cherished and missed by all.

Canyon was survived by his mother, Tami Spurlock, father, Thomas Spurlock and George Montesano; sisters, Kayla & Krista Spurlock.

An outdoor vigil Friday, Nov. 6, 2020 at 5:30 p.m. will be held. For further details please follow the Facebook Page: "We Love Canyon J Spurlock" or reach out to a family member.

A private funeral service will be held Saturday, Nov. 7, 2020 from 3-5 p.m. The service will be available by live stream if you go to https://www.legacyalaska.com/live-streaming/witzleben-legacy-funeral-homes for all who would like to attend.

Details on a full Celebration of Life Gathering for the Summer of 2021 will follow.
