Our beloved daughter, Sarah Kate MacCarthy, age 30, passed away on Oct. 13, 2020, at the Alaska Native Medical Center of an overdose. She was born in Anchorage, Alaska, to Steve and Mary MacCarthy. She attended Rabbit Creek Elementary, Wendler Junior High and East High School, graduating in 2008. She also attended the University of Alaska, obtaining her associate degree.

Sarah enjoyed fishing, camping, singing, traveling and spending time with her family. She had a kind and loving soul, always seeing the best in everyone. She also loved to journal and do arts and crafts with her friend Elza. She loved all different kinds of music, especially country. Her family was extremely important to her, and she was always the life of her family gatherings.

Sarah is survived by her parents, Steve MacCarthy (Dixie Jordan) and Mary MacCarthy (Chris Barden); her brother, Kyle MacCarthy; and her grandfather, Charles Gray. She also leaves many aunts, uncles and cousins. Her memory will forever live on through the love of her family and friends.
