Margaret Claeys Norton, 84, passed away peacefully at home in Palmer, Alaska on Sept. 24, 2020.

Margaret was born on Sept. 9, 1936 in Bridgeport, Conn. to the late Charles and Edna Stowe. On a blind date, Margaret met her future husband Thomas A. Norton the two were married on May 22, 1970. In 2001, the Norton family made their journey to Alaska, where they became residents of Palmer. Her hobbies included cake decorating, flower arranging and being around her grandchildren.

Margaret is survived by her loving husband, Thomas Norton; daughters, Erika (Steven) Bills, Kathleen Smith; son, David (Linda) Claeys; son in-law, James Tweedie; granddaughters, Mekenna Bills, Colleen Devino, Pearl Cathy, Ashley LeFebre, Katrina Griffin; grandsons, Gabriel Cappel, Jason Devino, Tommy Claeys, Greg LeFebre, Lonnie Griffin; great granddaughters, Aurora Devino, Kristen Griffin; great grandsons, Holden LeFebre, Payton LeFebre, Cody Griffin. She is preceded in death with her first husband, Dave Claeys.

A celebration of life was held on Oct. 1, 2020, from 2-4 p.m., at Janssen's Mat-Su Funeral Home 6901 E. Blue Lupine, Palmer. Calling hours at Cody White Funeral Home in Milford were from 5-8 on October 1, 2020. On Oct. 2, 2020 funeral services were held at East Village Cemetery, Monroe, CT at 10:30 am.
