The Valladolid Family -
Beloved daughter, granddaughter, sister, niece, cousin and friend Alexis De La Cruz (Valladolid) left this world unexpectedly, at 21, on Saturday, Aug. 15, 2020. Born in Anchorage, Alaska, on May 7, 1999, the daughter of Stewart Valladolid and Shara De La Cruz, she grew up in Las Vegas, Nev., and relocated back to Anchorage in 2014, where she graduated from Chugiak High School in 2017. Alexis was a strong, fun-loving spirit who loved to laugh with a little bit of sass. She had the most beautiful smile that could light up your soul. Although her time with us was short, we enjoyed all the times we spent with her.
When you think of Alexis, celebrate the good memories you have of her. Remember that life is fragile and short and should be lived to the fullest.
She is survived by her father, Stewart Valladolid; stepmother, Deborah Valladolid; brothers, Stewart, Stephan and Vincent; grandparents, Albert and Rosie Valladolid; aunts, Melody Valladolid, Darlene Sexton and husband Don; uncle, Kevin Valladolid; cousins, Sotiria, Athena and Persephone Sexton; and many other loving family members and friends.
The De La Cruz Family -
For those of you that knew Alexis, you knew how full of life, love and how hilarious she was. Alexis brightened the lives of so many. She was so sweet, had the most contagious laugh, the hammiest smile, curious and independent spirit, awesome player on the soccer field, could make her mom laugh as nobody else could, passionate love for animals, witty comebacks beyond her young age, loved snuggles and loved to eat! She was so rare and Heaven truly gained an angel to be reckoned with — in the best way.
She is survived by her mother, Shara De La Cruz; grandparents, Leo and Claudette De La Cruz, Donnie Smith and Charles Edwards; aunts and uncles, Shani Worley and husband Isaac (Isaac Jr., Jaden, Gauge and Ember), Shana Deibler and husband Daniel (Rylan), Shari Clare and husband Charles, (Hayden-Marie, Devin, Bennett, Leif and Juniper), Charles Edwards, Sarah Welsh and husband Devin (Dylan and Dane); and many other loving family members and friends.
A service will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2020, at 11 a.m., following a public visitation from 12-1 p.m. at Janssen's Mat-Su Funeral Home, 6901 East Blue Lupine Road in Palmer, Alaska. The burial will follow at Anchorage Memorial Park Cemetery, 535 East 9th Avenue in Anchorage, at 3 p.m.
