Bill was born on June 2, 1944, and passed away on June 1, 2022, in Gold Canyon, Ariz., after a long battle with lung-related illnesses. Roxanna Horschel, his partner of 31 years; son, Brian; daughter-in-law, Avery; and grandchildren, Preston and Linnell, were at his side.

Cowboy at heart and truck driver by trade, he shared many harrowing stories of experiences along the Alcan Highway and of building the trans-Alaska pipeline. Throughout his life, Bill was committed and caring of all those around him. He will be remembered for his selfless dedication to loved ones and his infectious, joyous laugh.

He is survived by partner, Roxanna Horschel; son, Brian; daughter-in-law, Avery; and grandchildren, Jacen (Mariah), Preston and Linnell. His son, William James Vaughan, preceded him in death.

A Celebration of Life will be held on July 27, 2022, in Anchorage, Alaska. Those wishing to attend can call or text Roxanna at 907-242-2288 for registration and information.
