William "Bill" Smith

William L. Smith, or "Bill," joined Jesus with his loving wife, Joanna (Fredin), providing faithful companionship during hospice at the Horizon House in Anchorage, Alaska.

Bill and Joanna farmed in Lakeside, Wis., many years while raising their four sons: Bill Jr., Dale, Larry and Doug. There were moves to California for electrical and general contracting work, rural Missouri for "retirement" farming and, finally, Alaska in 2023 for health care.

All are welcome at a celebration of life on Saturday, Nov. 15 2025, at 2 p.m., at Community Covenant Church, 16123 Artillery Road in Eagle River, Alaska. A summer 2026 interment of ashes is planned in Lakeside.
