Wasilla, Alaska, resident Robert Eugene Goff died on Oct. 25, 2021, after a brief illness. He was 92 years young. Robert was preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife, Annajean; son, James Lawrence Goff; and granddaughter, Amanda Lynn Goff.
Robert was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Anchorage, Alaska.
A funeral service will be held on Nov. 18, 2021, at the Wasilla Legacy Chapel at 1 p.m., and officiated by Rick Bushman, Bishop of the LDS church in Anchorage. Burial to follow at Wasilla Aurora Cemetery.
Robert "Bob" was born on Aug. 14, 1929, to Lawrence Earl and Mabel Mae (Minard) Goff in Glenrock, Wyo.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict as a cryptographer.
Bob married Annajean Abraham on Jan. 6, 1951. To this union five children were born.
He attended the University of Wyoming and earned a bachelor's degree with a petroleum certificate. He was employed by the United States Geological Service until his final retirement at age 59. Bob had many assignments including posts in Wyoming, Washington, D.C., and finally moving to Alaska in 1975.
Bob was an avid fisherman and amateur geologist. What he enjoyed the most was spending time with his children and grandchildren. Teasing all his grandchildren brought him great joy.
Surviving include children, Susan Gene Batt (Dean), Robert Griffith Goff (Carla), Nancy Anne Kraft (Joseph) and Charles Abraham Goff (Marie); grandchildren, Mary Jean McMillan, Deanna Sue Lepage, Cory Joe Goff, Kandi Lynn Elliot, Lacey Renee Rasco, Colt Robert Goff, Kevin Odel Elder, Joseph Robert Goff, Jessica Rae Goff, Melanie Dawn Kraft, Jared Douglas Kraft and Brandy Kraft Reed; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
His family stated one of their favorite sayings of his was "Good night, God bless you and I love you."
Dad had a dry sense of humor and had the ability to make us all laugh. He will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing and loving him.
