Robert "Bob" Joseph Frascati Jr., 81, of Anchorage, Alaska, passed away peacefully on Nov. 5, 2025. He died from complications resulting from Parkinson's disease. Bob was born on Jan. 20, 1944, in New York City, N.Y., to Robert "Bob" and Pauline "Pat" Frascati.
Born in New York City, Bob was raised in Scarsdale, N.Y., until his father's job with Seagram's transferred the family to Canoga Park, Calif. They resided there until 1961, when his father took a job at Odom's Corp in Anchorage. Bob graduated from West High School in 1962, and then attended and graduated from Oregon State University with a commission in the Air Force. Bob served in the Air Force for 10 years, stationed in Germany, Thailand and New Zealand during the Vietnam War era.
After his military service, Bob worked at the family's business Anchorage Travel Bureau, later retiring his parents, for a total of 25 years. He served as a finance manager at Morrison Auto Group in Anchorage until retiring. He loved his family, the travel bureau - and its travel benefits! - and his Audis.
Bob never knew a stranger. He would strike up a conversation with anyone nearby. Nearly every time he went anywhere, whether local restaurants or traveling within or outside the country, he would run into someone he knew. He would entertain children with his duck voice - and sometimes scare the very young ones.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Patricia (PJ) Ann Frascati; and stepson, Robert Komarek.
Bob is survived by his loving wife, Sharon Frascati; children by his first wife, Linda, now deceased: Jeanette Howell and Alyson (Jim) Crafton; by his second wife, Dorothy: Jessica (Shawn) Sommers, Brett Frascati and Angela Frascati; and stepson, Joshua (Amy) Komarek. His memory lives on in eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren: Katie, Brianna, Colby, Brittan, Greyson, Presley, Robert, Lillian, Kylan and Rip.
A life celebration will be planned for late spring or early summer 2026 in Anchorage.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bob's memory to the Bfit & Well Annex, 3934 Spenard Road in Anchorage, for the Rock Steady Boxing Program; or the American Parkinson's Disease Association - Northwest Chapter in Seattle, Wash.
