Former Alaska resident Rebecca (Matheny) Glenn, 70, died on May 10, 2025, at her home in Albany, Mo. Beckee was born on Sept. 21, 1954, in Pineville, Ky., to Ralph and Jessie (Valentine) Matheny. They moved to Alaska in 1959, when her father was stationed at Elmendorf Air Force Base. She attended Mt. View Elementary, Clark Junior High, and East High schools.
She married Tom Glenn in 1973 and had three daughters. After raising their children in Chugiak, Alaska, Beckee and Tom relocated to Albany in 2001. Before retiring, Beckee was a clerk for Federal Civil Service and worked for the Anchorage School District. She also did volunteer work with Senior Centers, Garden Clubs and the Historical Society in Albany.
Among many of Beckee's talents were quilting, stained glass, jigsaw puzzles, gardening and collecting antiques. As an animal lover, Beckee had numerous pets which included birds, turtles, dogs and potbellied pigs.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Tom; her parents, Ralph and Jessie Matheny; brothers, Jack Smith and Cord Matheny; and sisters, Patricia (Trish) Mingle and Fredricka Stevens.
She is survived by her daughter, Jorie Greenman and husband Ronnie of Washington; daughters, Ashley Glenn and Jarin Glenn of Missouri; and grandchildren, Aidan, Timmery, Jett and Paxton, all of Missouri.
Survivors also include brothers, Ellis Smith and wife Sharon of Anchorage and Michael Matheny and wife Sherry of Tellico Plains, Tenn.; brothers-in-law, David Mingle of Van Wert, Ohio, and Bill Stevens of Rosepine, La.; sister, Laura Kate Jansen and husband Randy of Anchorage, Alaska; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Arrangements were handled at Roberson-Polley Chapel in Albany.
