Patricia "Patty" Ziemba

Aug 14, 1950 -

Aug 5, 2022

Patricia Ann Ziemba passed away after a year and a half battle with cancer on Friday, Aug. 5, 2022, surrounded by loved ones at Providence Hospital in Anchorage, Alaska. She was an incredible mother, sister, aunt and friend to many.

Patty was born in Chicago, Ill., on Aug. 14, 1950, to Chester "Chet" and Betty Ziemba. She graduated high school from St. Scholastica in Chicago and attended college at St. Norbert in De Pere, Wis. Patty traveled the world and lived many places before moving to Alaska in 1984, where, a few years later, she had twin daughters: Hilary Iva, deceased at birth, and Hayley Ela.

Patty's love for travel led her to become a corporate travel agent. She worked up until her passing at USTravel/Corporate Travel Management, where she met some amazing people. Many would say that she was not only a co-worker, but a mentor and friend. Aside from travel, Patty had a passion for love, Broadway and QVC. Her life stories were outrageous, yet exciting, and her glow while watching the movie Hamilton did not dim even in her final days. She had a warm soul that was felt by everyone close to her. Her wit and humor would keep you on your toes and if you saw her smile, you'd be smiling yourself. If you've had the pleasure of meeting her daughter, Hayley, you understand where that strong spirit comes from.

Patty was preceded in death by her parents, Chet and Betty; brother, Richard; nephew, Michael; and daughter, Hilary. She is survived by her daughter, Hayley; sisters, Cathy, Janet and Susan; sister-in-law, MJ; brother-in-law, Richard; nephews, Scott, Thoryn, Rhys, Ryne, Zachary and Trevor; and niece, Kelsey.

Patty was a fighter and will be missed by so many. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society, https://donate3.cancer.org. Please reach out to her daughter directly regarding service arrangements. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors and nursing staff at Providence Hospital for their devotion and care.
