Norma "Oma" Cobb

Apr 23, 1944 -

Jan 10, 2026

Norma Kay Cobb of Sedona, Ariz., born on April 23, 1944, entered the presence of her Lord on Jan. 10, 2026. A woman of strength and deep faith, Norma devoted her life to God and her family. She found God in the Alaska wilds and in Arizona's red rock sunrises, believing His presence was revealed through hard work, reading scripture and the beauty of the natural world. Known lovingly as "Oma," she cherished her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Norma leaves behind a beloved family and a legacy of love, resilience and faith that will continue through generations.

Norma was preceded in death by her father, Vernon Edward Galyardt, who passed away on Sept. 9, 2001, and her mother, Gay Nell Hogue Galyardt Meyer, who passed away on March 27, 2017. Her grannie, Ollie K. Hogue, passed away on March 6, 2008, and her sister, Susanne Galyardt, passed in December 2019.

She leaves behind her five beloved children, Sidney Michael Cobb and wife Manjola of Texas, Sean Edward Cobb and wife Laura of Alaska, Thomas James, Cara Cobb of Alaska, and Cora Cobb of Alaska; numerous grandchildren, Audrey and Sidney Jr., Cassandra and Caje, Ira, Jared, Norma Gene, Joey, Aaron, Grady, Chantell and Mahalia; and wonderful great-grandchildren, Juliana, Samuel, Ira Jr., Jack, Jase, Dawson, Mackenzie, River, Baby Cobb (due in March 2026), Aaron Jr., Isaiah, Amiah, Grady Jr., Keith Jr., Justin Jr. and Jayden.

She is also survived by her brother, Larry Galyardt and wife Donna of Kansas; and sister, Gayle Teel and husband David of Texas.

We are sure that when she entered heaven, God greeted her with words she lived by: "Well done, good and faithful servant."
