Lloyd Wayne Collins, 78, of Kenai, Alaska, passed away on March 21, 2021, at Providence Alaska Medical Center, in Anchorage, Alaska.
He was born on July 17, 1942, in Bakersfield, Calif., to Charles and Dorothy (Pate) Collins, and moved to Kenai in 1960. During his years of living in Alaska, Lloyd worked in the oilfield industry and commercial fishing, naming his first drift gillnetter, F/V Debra Lee after his daughter, Debra. He was a hard worker and built the family's home. He loved to build things - the bigger the project the better. Lloyd built fishing boats from skiffs to crabbers, and fished salmon, herring, shrimp, cod and crab. He was an equipment operator and truck driver for excavating, construction and mining businesses.
Lloyd enjoyed having early morning coffee with his friends and he is loved and missed by many. Lloyd married Roseleen (Snooks) Edelman in 1961, and they had four children: Debra, Dorothy, Lloyd and Andrea. They divorced in 1972. Lloyd married Theda (Freddie) Collins about 1976 and divorced in 1977. He also married Sherron Justis in 1978, and adopted daughters Tonya and C'Les, divorcing in 2009. Lloyd loved family get-togethers and playtime with his children and grandchildren
Lloyd is survived by his children, Debra Moore, Dorothy Barney (Clifford), Lloyd Moore (Martine), Tonya Collins and C'Les Jensema; grandchildren, Stephanie Gundersen, Aaron Fleenor, Rose Fleenor, Dallan Barney, Megan Webb, Lloyd Moore, Alexander Moore, Justin Arnold, Ashlyn McBride, Monica Wittorff, Mason Toloff, LeAnna Hobby and Brandy Jensema; many great-grandchildren; nieces, Stacy McKenzie-Cowan and Tracy Pounds; and nephew, Don Collins.
Lloyd was predeceased by his parents; sister, Carolyn Bowman; and daughter, Andrea Delkettie.
The family wishes to thank everyone for sharing prayers, thoughtful condolences and fond memories of Lloyd, our beloved fisherman. Lloyd loved Alaska and said that he never wanted to live anywhere else.
