Linda Sue Metheny Witthoeft

Linda Sue Metheny Witthoeft died on Dec. 29, 2022, in Anchorage, Alaska, surrounded by her loved ones.

She was born on July 19, 1950, at Walter Reed Hospital in Washington, D.C., the daughter of the late Catherine and James Metheny. The oldest of three daughters, she was preceded in death by her sister Carol Tolen and survived by sister Barbara Case of Viera, Fla.

Linda was a 1968 graduate of East Anchorage High School. Shortly after high school, Linda began employment at V.F. Grace Inc., where she met the love of her life, Kenneth Witthoeft of Longville, Minn. Linda was married to Kenneth Witthoeft on Oct. 29, 1972, in Anchorage. Ken preceded Linda in death.

Linda is survived by their two children, Carolyn Berg and Matthew Witthoeft of Anchorage; their spouses, Dan Berg and Karen Witthoeft; and grandchildren, Chase and Devin Berg and Leopold and Augustus Witthoeft.

Linda was a longtime congregant of Cornerstone Church of God. She found her most joy in helping others. At church she enjoyed helping prepare the music program for Sunday service. Ken and Linda taught Sunday school at the church for toddlers for over 20 years.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., on Friday, Jan. 6, 2023, at Cornerstone Church of God in Anchorage.
