Kelly McGonegal

Longtime Juneau and Wasilla, Alaska, resident Kelly McGonegal passed away peacefully in his home in Kingman, Ariz., on June 12, 2026, with his wife by his side. He was born in Livingston, Mont., in 1951.

Kelly graduated from Juneau Douglas High school in 1970, and was able to attend his 55 year class reunion in 2025. Right after high school he joined the Navy and served on the USS Kittyhawk. He retired from Alaska Airlines as a customer service agent in 1996. Kelly then spent 20 years with Omega World Travel making travel arrangements for the Alaska Veteran Administration. He enjoyed bowling, working in his yard and spending time with family.

Kelly is survived by his wife, Debbie McGonegal; sister, Susan McGonegal of Portland, Ore.; stepdaughter, Jamie Matheson of Juneau; many nieces and nephews, along with great-nieces and great-nephews who he lived very much.
