John Scott Shelton

John Scott Shelton, 47, passed away on Sept. 7, 2023.

He was born in Anchorage, Alaska. on Oct. 1, 1975. He graduated from Service High School.

John was a big man in stature and in his life, relationships and pursuits.

He played hard and had a passion for anything with wheels, wings and motors. He rode bikes, ATVs and snowmachines, and loved everything RC. He enjoyed skiing, fishing and hunting.

John had the remarkable ability to play, have fun and teach at the same time. He was an analyzer, a problem solver, a fixer and a builder, a man of many skills whose knowledge exceeded that of most people with many more years of "book learning."

His greatest love in life was for his family, and he was dedicated to his wife and his boys.

He is survived by his wife, Yvette; sons, Pearson, Travers and Leon; parents, Donna and John Shelton; sisters, Kari and Brian Carter, and Lori Williams; nephews, Taylor, Nicholas, Mason and Cannon; aunt, Diana Chase; uncle, John and aunt Joyce Mullican; aunt, Shelly Mullican; uncle, Ed and aunt Linda Shelton; aunt, Linda and uncle Jerry Swain; and many cousins in Alaska and the Lower 48.

John was preceded in death by Edward "Pappy" and Thelma "Nanny" Shelton; Clyde and Roseanne Mullican; uncle, Dennis Mullican; aunt, Peggy Shelton; and John Williams.

A celebration of life will be held on Sept. 16, 2023, at 2 p.m., at the Alaska Aviation Museum.
