Jacques Alleva

An immeasurable amount of laughter has been stolen from the world as Jacques Paul Alleva has passed away. Not one for punctuality, Jacques was born three weeks late on April 12, 1984, in Anchorage, Alaska; the first child of Ron and Annette (LaMarche) Alleva's raucous brood. Shocking everyone who loved him, he died at least three decades too early on Oct. 25, 2025, at the age of 41.
Throughout his life, Jacques was always authentic. He was loyal – sometimes to a fault - to his family, friends and the Green Bay Packers, all of which he never lost faith in. He was saccharine, generous and thoughtful, making him by far the favorite grandson, nephew and cousin to a large and sprawling family. And he had an eccentric, crude sense of humor that somehow contributed to his charisma and charm. His feist would get him in trouble and yet, his personality combined with his undeniable good looks would always help him finesse a way out.
Being the oldest of five, Jacques led his younger siblings, Jesse, Aron, Jasmine and Jordan, through a childhood of obnoxious pranks, "prison rules" soccer, Jeopardy tournaments and unrelenting devotion – usually with his best friend, Jimmy Obermeyer, by his side. The love he exemplified with his brothers and sisters, whom he no doubt pestered and tormented, can be summed up in a sentence he used to say to them, "I'm allowed to make fun of you, but no one else is!"
He shared a love of coin collecting with his dad, cackling at videos of people falling with his mom and a belief that the best of family moments happen at a kitchen table with both. Jacques' passion for cooking was more accurately a passion for providing and gathering; he wanted to take care of people – and he did.
There was nothing and no one who captivated Jacques more than the love of his life, his daughter, Jeanne. Like her dad, Jeanne's beauty is the most obvious thing about her, but it is surpassed by her brilliance, heart of gold and generous spirit – things Jacques would deny having a hand in. Their love for each other was insurmountable and Jacques delighted in Jeanne's tenacity, fearlessness and sense of humor – even bragging about how she did stand-up comedy for her talent show. Together, they danced to "Jailbreak" and gave wet willies to Jeanne's uncles and aunties, her daddy showing her the mischievous ropes.
While War Heads and Slim Jims undoubtedly saw a loss in sales, no one has felt this unbearable loss more than Jeanne, whom we hope will remember her daddy's adoration for her every, single moment. It is our promise to him that we will never forget.
Jacques loved classic cars, his dog, Kora, playing ping pong, quoting movies more than watching them, dancing in the kitchen, his friends from all walks of life and being a son, brother, new uncle to his beloved niece, Rocky "Rockamoll," and daddy to his one and only Jeannie. He made horrible situations bearable and found humor even in the worst circumstances. He made us laugh until we cried and now, without him, we will be crying until we find ourselves laughing again – the memories of our beautiful, brilliant, boisterous Jacques making us smile once more and forever.
A celebration of his life will take place 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2025, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Anchorage. All who loved him are welcome.
