Gregory Allen Wuitschick beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend passed away at his home in Anchorage, Alaska, Nov. 21, 2024 after a courageous battle with kidney cancer.
Greg was born on Aug. 5,1964 in Klamath Falls, Ore. into a large family who moved to Anchorage, Alaska in 1967, where he lived out his life. He attended Rabbit Creek Elementary and graduated from Service Hanshew High School in 1983. He attended UAA's Automotive Program then opened and operated Alaska Tire World and Greg's Auto Works for decades in South Anchorage. He prided himself in helping those in need with their vehicles.
In 2003, Greg met Carolyn and proudly married her in 2012. Together they raised his stepson, Brandon Shayan.
Greg was a "larger than life" personality and always enjoyed having fun! Family was important to him. He loved to attend gatherings, tell stories, and laugh and tease his family members and friends. He was always there to listen and help those in need. He enjoyed tinkering in his shop, collecting Snap-On tools, and going on wild snow machine adventures! He and his wife became members of the Catholic church where he was proud to receive confirmation as an adult. He served the Knights of Columbus and was an active member of Holy Cross Parish in Anchorage.
He is survived by his father, Edward Wuitschick; brother, Mark Wuitschick and wife, Robbie; brother in-law, Mike Craig; sister, Valery Tisch and husband, John Tisch; sister, Terese Swayman and husband, Ken; brother, Doug Wuitschick and partner, Erin; and sister-in-law, Sharolyn Swircenski and husband, Alan. He is preceded in death by his mother, Helen Wuitschick; and sisters, Cheryl Craig and Bridget Wuitschick.
Nieces and nephews include: JD and Caitlin Hatley, Byron and Lahela Hatley, Valli and Dave Harrell, Laci and Ryan Mattingley, Spencer and Yolanda Hatley, Markus Wuitschick, Helen Lanisha Wuitschick, Sara and Sam Morin, Jessica and Jason Monkelien, Ian and Sarah Lamp, Cullen Tisch, Katherine Tisch, Sean Tisch, Ashley Anderson, Jeremy Swayman, Justin Wuitschick, Rayce Wuitschick, Hanna Swircenski, and Tiana Swircenski. He also has many great nieces and nephews, cousins, and aunts and uncles.
A funeral mass will be held Saturday, Dec 7 at 10:30 a.m. with a viewing at 10 a.m. at Holy Cross Parish 2627 Lore Rd.
