Gregory James Morrisette passed away on Friday, July 10, 2020, in Apache Junction, Ariz. Greg, born to James and Shirley Morrisette on Nov. 30, 1952, was raised in Minnesota with his two sisters, Susan and Sharon, attended Saint Rose of Lima Catholic School and Alexander Ramsey High School in Roseville, before serving in the United States Army, Co B 34th Engineer Battalion, where he earned a National Defense Service Medal. Upon his honorable discharge, Greg moved to Alaska, where he met the love of his life, his wife of almost 40 years, Linda, whom he married appropriately on Feb. 14, 1981, Valentine's Day.

Together Greg and Linda raised her children, Michael and Peggy, whom he formally adopted and loved as his own. They lived the Alaskan dream, building their first home from the ground up in Palmer, later moving their young family to Trapper Creek, and finally to Anchorage.

In 1987, Greg opened a retail flooring store, Jungle Jim's Flooring, in Anchorage, named after his father. Then in 1994, he and his wife Linda went on to open a flooring distributorship in Anchorage, called Ala'Round Flooring. Both stores still operate successfully today.

In 2002, Greg met another girl, his youngest daughter, Brooklyn, whom he welcomed into their family with open arms.

In 2016, Greg and his wife retired to Apache Junction.

Greg loved simple pleasures, potato chips dipped in milk, orange flavored cappuccino and enjoying old western movies and sports on TV. He was soft spoken, committed, honest and hardworking. He was a man of integrity who made a deal on a handshake. He lead by example and treated his friends, neighbors and business colleagues as family. He will be missed by many.

Greg is survived by his wife, Linda Morrisette; son, Michael Morrisette; daughters, Peggy Gonzalez, nee Morrisette (husband David Gonzalez) and Brooklyn Sleeper, nee Slaughter-Morrisette (husband Colin Sleeper); his grandchildren, Gregory and Timothy Morrisette, and Ayris and Breslyn Gonzalez' he is also survived by his sisters, Susan Osen (husband Gary Osen) and Sharon Goudge; many nieces, nephews and great-nephews and great-nieces.

Gone, but never forgotten.
