Eva Loken, beloved wife, sister, aunt and friend, passed away peacefully on Aug. 16, 2026, at the age of 82. Her life was an extraordinary story and she touched so many lives with her quick wit, generosity and dedication to whatever task she undertook.
Eva was born in Jessheim, Ullensaker, Norway, to Gunvor Norregaard Anker Loken and Torbjorn Loken and grew up with sister Trine Uleberg and brother Finn Loken. Eva attended University of Oslo then worked for two years as a secretary at Aftenposten in Norway. She then embarked on an 11-year career as a flight attendant for Scandinavian Airlines, and during a stopover in Alaska, she met her future husband. Ronald Aksamit and Eva Loken were married in 1975 on Valentine's Day and went on to develop a homestead in Eagle River, Alaska. They remained devoted to each other until Ron's death in 2021. Eva was well-known in her community for her work as a licensed real estate agent, also known as "Eva's Apples." She was active in her community and received many awards including the Mayor's Public Service award, Bear Paw Award, Saint George Award, Realtor of the Year and more. She was dedicated to friends and community and was involved with the Annual Eagle River Cancer Drive, the Southfork Community Council, Board of Realtors and Special Olympics.
Eva is survived by her sister, Trine Uleberg; nephews, Vidar Uleberg and Roar Loken Lunder and their families; and sisters-in-law, Virginia Haddix and Betty Aksamit. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ronald Aksamit; and brother, Finn Loken. A private memorial service is being planned for summer 2027.
