Deanna Lynn Gratrix, 81, of Palmer, Alaska, passed away peacefully at home on Sept. 18, 2026, surrounded by her family.
Deanna was born on Feb. 15, 1945, in Anchorage, Alaska, and spent more than 40 years living in the Palmer Butte area. There, she built a life filled with family, adventure, creativity and a deep appreciation for the outdoors.
She is survived by her sons, Grant Gratrix and wife Rossana, and Jeff Gratrix; daughters, Koresa Gratrix and Rikki Gratrix; grandchildren, Chinkee, Christian, Chessa, Charlize, NikiLee, Jessica, Jacob, Ellie, Xander, Kody, Courtney and Crystal; as well as four great-grandchildren.
Deanna had a lifelong love of travel and adventure. She enjoyed exploring Alaska and traveling around the world, hunting, fishing and going on African safaris. One of her greatest passions was driving her Corvette in road rallies with the Anchorage Corvette Association, where she was a longtime member. She loved participating in the Corvette runs every summer.
She was also incredibly creative and took great pride in her arts and crafts. For more than 30 years, Deanna entered her work in the Alaska State Fair, and each summer she looked forward to coming home with ribbons for her winning creations.
Above all, Deanna treasured her family. She especially loved opening her home during the holidays, bringing everyone together to celebrate, visit, laugh and create lasting memories.
Deanna will be remembered for her adventurous spirit, her creativity, her love of family and the many memories she created with those fortunate enough to know and love her.
