Daniel Lee Lewis passed away suddenly of natural causes on the North Slope, Alpine Camp, on April 7, 2023.

Beloved husband of Claire (nee Kearney). Dearest son of the late Ron and Betty Lewis. Dearest son-in-law of Lee and Jackie Kearney. Brother of Denise Premschak (Carl), David (Deborah) and Donna Jones (Bill). Brother-in-law of Karen, Elizabeth Golomski (the late Stephen), the late Mary Ann and Kathryn Foy (Kevin). Uncle of Hunter and Evan (Bre); Dylan; Mylisa (Jesse), Lillie, and Emily (Joe); Allison; Kearney and Reilly. Dear great-uncle of seven.

Dan was a talented, hard-working, gentle and funny guy. He began his working career in Deer Lodge, Mont., as an apprentice plumber and electrician. He moved on to being a mechanic, pipefitter, plumber and welder at the Cobalt Mine in Idaho before moving to Alaska in 1981. When first arriving in Alaska, he joined a friend as a carpet layer. Then he spent the next years with K.H.O., Concor, Sunset Construction and Halliburton before coming to Alaska Petroleum Construction in 1994. In 1999, Dan started with ASRC at Alpine Camp. Dan's love for life and practical joking made him beloved by many coworkers. He was a mentor and mischief maker. He enjoyed stories and storytellers, jokes and jokers. His compassion and care for friends, family and coworkers was limitless.

A service will be held at Evergreen Memorial Chapel, 737 E Street in Anchorage, on Thursday, April 13, 2023, at 11 a.m. Luncheon will follow.
