Cynthia Gail Menninga, 79, passed away at home on June 3, 2026.

Cynthia was born on March 12, 1947, in Luling, Texas, to Carlos B. Conner Sr. and Bennie Jo Conner. Cindy graduated high school and attended some college. She moved to Alaska in 1984 and worked for the state. She was a member of the Mountain City Church, where she met her husband, Larry. They were married on Nov. 20, 2004. Cindy loved fishing, camping and traveling. She also loved shopping with her daughters and loving her three dogs. Cindy will be remembered for her beautiful smile, infectious laugh and hospitable heart.

She is survived by her spouse, Larry Menninga of Wasilla, Alaska; daughter and son-in-law, Shannon and Todd Severson of Anchorage, Alaska; daughter, M. Danielle Been of Anchorage; daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Jason Bellar of Cleveland, Ohio; stepson, Billy Brewer of North Carolina; stepdaughter, Susan Menninga of Wasilla; stepdaughter, Robin Gibson of Las Vegas, Nev.; brother, Carlos B. Conner Jr. of Houston, Texas; 18 grandchildren; and 12.5 great-grandchildren.

Cindy is preceded in death by her parents, Carlos B. Connor Sr. and Bennie Jo Conner; and grandson, Ben Menninga.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 8, 2026, at 11 a.m., at Mountain City Church, 6401 E. Northern Lights Boulevard, Anchorage, AK 99504. Dr. Jerry Prevo will officiate the service. Pallbearers will include: Todd Severson, Jason Bellar, Dustin Dorau, Jaden Bellar, Jack Bellar and Cannan Mann. Cynthia will be laid to rest at the Fort Richardson National Cemetery.
