Charlotte graduated from East Anchorage High School, class of '87, where she forged lifelong friendships and memories. Her dedication and compassionate nature led her to a fulfilling career at AA Spine & Pain Clinic, where she worked for over 20 years. Charlotte was held in high regard by colleagues and patients alike, and her retirement was a testament to her years of selfless work.
Charlotte relished in the joy of basking in the sun on a perfect summer day and cultivating her cherished garden of vibrant flowers and hearty vegetables. Her culinary skills were unmatched and she took great pleasure in cooking for those she loved. Above all, Charlotte's most treasured moments were those spent with her adored grandson, Hayden, and her family.
Charlotte's legacy of love and laughter will live on through her beloved mother, Donna Valentinsen; devoted brother, Michael Valentinsen; husband, Jim Mercer; loving son and his fiancee, Chase Smith and Rayne Simpson; cherished grandson, Hayden Frable-Smith; and the myriad of family and friends who were blessed to be part of her life.
Described by those who knew her as loving, funny and courageous, Charlotte faced life's challenges with unwavering strength and a smile that could light up a room.
