Longtime Alaskan and Ninilchik resident Barbara J. Plotner, 95, passed away on Friday, Jan. 13, 2023, at home.

A celebration of her life will be held in summer 2023.

Barbara was born on Jan. 22, 1927, in Portland, Ore. She moved to Alaska in 1970, and lived in Anchorage, Wasilla, Sterling, and Ninilchik.

Barbara loved to sit at the back door and watch for barges sailing up and down the Cook Inlet as well as watching eagles soaring over the bluff. She also watched the moose and squirrels in the backyard. She loved all kinds of wildlife.

Barbara was a sweet and gentle woman who loved her family whom she lived with for several years. She enjoyed talking long rides in the truck and doing her puzzles everyday.

Barbara is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jerri and Charles Williams III of Ninilchik.
